There are many ways to irrigate.
- Drips- which is used to apply water straight to the root zone of the plants. The actual drips are placed either on ground level or underneath .
- Flood - This is when the whole surface is covered in water.
- Gravity- when the water is not pumped but gravity is used to flow and distribute over the plants.
- Rotation- A system by which the irrigators have a certain amount of water.
- Sprinkler- water is by means of pipes or nozzles under pressure which forms a spray pattern.
- Center-pivot- automated sprinkler that rotates in a circular motion. Water is brought to the centre of the system. It is on wheels at a fixed speed
These are just a few ways to irrigate. But we believe the answer to irrigating a desert is drips. With drip irrigation you can save 50-60 percent of water.
